This painting is from a shot from my son Tony's plane. The steel mill pictured is owned by
Cleveland Cliffs. Formerly, it was the Bethlehem Steel plant. It is located in Burns Harbor, IN.
The sun was getting ready to set when I took the reference photos for this piece. In the center
of the painting is a building with six smokestacks. This is the power plant where I worked when
I was employed by Bethlehem Steel. Across the street from the power plant are the two big blast
furnaces that were there when the plant was first built in the mid 1960's.
